September 22, 2026
The Board of Directors of the Financial Regulatory Authority, headed by Dr. Islam Azzam, issued a decision allowing professional insurance companies to have their auditors registered in Sections One or Two (A) or (B) of the auditors' register at the Authority, in order to facilitate these companies in carrying out their activities.
This decision applies to companies that engage in insurance brokerage activities, reinsurance brokerage, insurance consultancy, risk assessment expertise, and damage assessment and valuation in the insurance field.
The new decision includes amending the decisions regulating the rules and professional standards for practicing those professional activities in the field of insurance, with the aim of making them easier, by canceling the requirement that the auditor be registered in the first section of the auditors' register with the Authority.
Dr. Islam Azzam, the head of the authority, said that this decision responds to the circumstances and changes of the practical reality, to facilitate the requirements for professional companies in the field of insurance and to take into account the financial costs they incur, which helps to stimulate their activity and enhance their role in developing the field and increasing its contribution to the national economy.
It is worth mentioning that following the issuance of the Unified Insurance Law No. (155) of 2024, the Board of Directors of the Authority issued more than 80 decisions that represent the regulatory framework for the activities of insurance companies, professional companies in the field of insurance, insurance funds and other entities addressed by the provisions of the law, including Decision No. (69) of 2025 regarding the rules and standards for registering and practicing the activity of brokerage in insurance or reinsurance, Decision No. (25) of 2026 regarding the conditions, rules and procedures for registering and practicing the work of insurance consultant experts, and Decision No. (54) of 2026 regarding the conditions, rules and procedures for registering and practicing the work of risk assessment experts and damage assessment in the field of insurance.
